Cancer and Cannabis is a 2.5 hour class that examines how Cannabis can be used to help in the fight against cancer. The class will be offered on Sunday, August 26th from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm at the NORML office on Atlantic Boulevard.
In the class, we will examine how cannabis can treat the side effects of chemotherapy (including nausea and peripheral neuropathy). An overview will be provided on the cancer-fighting properties of cannabinoids including THC and the non-psychoactive CBD. We will discuss what we know (and do not know) about experimental protocols like the RSO/Phoenix Tears. The process of how cancer patients can get a FL medical card to legally purchase and use medical marijuana will be mapped out.
The class will be taught by Jonathan Byron, PhD, who became interested in cannabis when a family member was diagnosed with breast cancer. The registration fee includes a printed copy of his manuscript on cannabis and cancer.
